Sizing

At MountainMuttDogCoats we think a garment that fits correctly does a better job of keeping your dog warm and dry.  We’ve created 7 sizes from real dogs we’ve met. Our garments are generously cut to cover the body correctly. That means no short backs, lots of adjustment options, and coverage for deep chests. Our garments are handmade. We will measure your dog and make sure the size is right. Small alterations are free.

Back length and girth size are the two most important pieces of information we need to fit your dog. There are a lot of adjustment options on the chest and tummy panels. If your dog falls between sizes please call to let us know. We can make the appropriate changes.

We will help you to measure correctly. Because our coats are handmade we can accommodate unusual sizes and shapes or easily tweak to fit better.

Custom made garments are available for dogs whose body shapes are longer, bigger or proportionately different from our in-stock sizes.

We’re happy to use your fabric and accommodate special requests. Custom made garments may take up to 6 weeks to prepare and are not eligible for refunds.
